The impact of Graffiti in the society

Many people see graffiti as something negative, a form of vandalism which should be, and in fact it is punishable by the law in some places. To them it is an unsightly image of criminal behavior and they do not choose recognize the artistic merits and creative thought that goes into some of these artworks. However, for me Graffiti is a true form of art that is recognized as having a profound positive effect on many different lifestyles. Graffiti, if it’s done right it can be used in many positive ways. This includes brightening dull areas of space, and advertising new products in an exciting method. Fox example, In Buenos Aires, Argentina we can see like they show the style of each individual artist, their techniques and feelings at the same time. In this place, this practice is legal and everybody have the opportunity to show whatever they want without discrimination or critics. In fact, the paintings are seen like art and this demonstrations offer to the public a positive way to express any opinions about politics or social issues and people enjoy seeing them.

RACISM IN LATIN AMERICA

I think Maria Rondon, the director of movie “Pelo Malo”, would confirm her position about racism in Latin America. In fact, her film was very controversial and like she said, there are infinitive numbers of themes that are there on the surface like Racism. Today, 40 percent of Africans live in cities, and most rural Africans are deeply connected to cities in one way or order. However, the other 60 percent lives in the middle of poverty and they have few opportunities to obtain benefits and become to great professionals because the racism is a reality in our country. For example, it’s very common that black people is discriminated and they can´t assist to special places which are considerate only for the white people who have a high social status. So, the black people many times is seen like an uneducated people. For taht reason, is that obvious the stereotypes abouth them. In my opinion we live seeing an iceberg which we look apparently “equality” with others. But in the background the differences exist and we need a "mental change” reflected in actions and not continued with simple words.

Bangkok's Mexican Gangsters

The difference between the video and cultural appropriation is the young Thai men. In the video are identified as Mexican Gangster, they are obsessed with these groups. But the Thai gangs don’t fight amongst themselves or deal in illicit drugs, both of which are hallmarks of real Latino gangs. In a nutshell, this is a brotherhood of style-conscious men who bond over baggy white shirts and gothic-baroque tattoos. It means that they just were captivated by their clean and simple style. Instead the process of cultural appropriation often provides a constant stream of styles which may be commercial. In other words, all of this is only seen by mass culture for commercial purposes.

On the other hand, the similarity between both is that although they are aware that they are seen as weird or crazy people in society and before the law, they don’t want to mess with anyone. Then, the purpose of these people is to imitate what they like or what they’re attracted to different cultures (Colombians, Mexicans, Americans, etc) enjoying what they do and have the support of their families.

On this issue I think we should respect the interests of other people, simply because they don’t interfere in our lives. I think everyone has the right to choose their clothes, tattoos, hairstyles and act the way they see fit.

It looks very interesting about this article is the Bangkok’s Mexican Gangster, lead normal lives with their wives and other family members, each exerting his profession and evenings out and share with your friends’ brotherhood.
